About the event
Experience historic walks, house tours and stories of fascinating characters from two cultures who came together to develop the nation that is New Zealand.
This 12-day, fully guided tour focuses on the contact in the early 19th century between the colony of NSW - particularly Parramatta and Port Jackson - and the people of Aotearoa.
It takes us to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Paihia, Russell, Kerikeri and Rangihoua Heritage Park in the Bay of Islands, the Auckland heritage suburbs of Parnell, Newmarket, Mt Eden, Mt Albert and Devonport and many other places in between.
Along the way, we learn about important figures such as Marsden, Williams, Hongi Hika, Ruatara and Te Pahi and their families. Plus we enjoy wineries and innovative cuisine that showcases modern New Zealand.
Join us as we explore the path to nationhood across the Tasman!
