About the event
Construction of the Metro allows for aspects that are not normally available, from "Mr Skinner's commodious tavern", built in 1845, to the Art Deco CML building which "the whole of Sydney" was talking about in 1936.
Take a gentle stroll up Hunter St with its deep history, learn about Henry Parkes's toy shop, the old livery stables, lost hotels, banks and other commercial properties and become better acquainted with the Reverend Richard Johnson, Richard 'China' Jones, and Captain Richard Brooks.
Admire the architecture on show from colonial days through to today and end with a short tour of the artworks in the foyer of 50 Martin Place / 1 Elizabeth St, the new headquarters of Macquarie Bank.
