About the event
Woolloomooloo was one of Sydney’s earliest suburbs. In the 1860s land was reclaimed at the head of the bay, and a new wharf was opened in 1866. By the 1870s the bay was the centre of Sydney’s fish markets, and local timber industry.
Join Janet Morice and Andrew Starr as they walk out along the ridge. Then dive into the secrets at the head of Woolloomooloo Bay. So many fascinating tales to discover until, at the end of the walk, at the edge of our beautiful harbour, the immortal Harry’s café de Wheels will quench your thirst and provide a well-earned snack!
This walk starts at the Art Gallery of NSW, covers approximately 5kms and has lots of steps!
